Sister Agnes Sasagawa of the Sisters of the Handmaids of the Eucharist had many health problems. After going deaf she went to live with the nuns in the remoteness of Akita, Japan. Her world soon changed. It was a quiet Tuesday afternoon on June 26, 1973. The Sisters had all gone off on errands and they left Sister Agnes to watch over the convent. When she went to visit Jesus in the Tabernacle, it was just Him and her. She could hear Him, not with her ears, but with her heart. She told him all that was in her heart. Then she remained silent, while He spoke to her. On this Tuesday afternoon, the Lord had a special plan for her. He was to bestow upon her a blessing which would remain with her for the rest of her life. A voice of indescribable beauty struck Sister’s totally-deaf ears.
