The purpose of Lent is growing deeper in our relationships with Jesus. It is the ideal time to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, leaning into the mercy He offers us.
“Jesus does not condemn us for our sins, but He also does not condone them.”
The Church tells us that the bare minimum for going to Confession as Catholics is once a year, but it is recommended to practice going to Confession once a month. Imagine having a child who only showered once a year – it is a start, but not nearly sufficient.
He is waiting for us in the confessional in the person of the priest. Let us take advantage of this season of Lent to go to Confession, repent of sins and receive His endless mercy. Going to Confession brings us peace and grace to do God’s will.
