I Have Something Now That I Didn't Before

“The experience of being baptised with the Holy Spirit is, I'm convinced, supposed to be normative within the Church. The Church is meant to be a body of people continually alive to God's presence, a people on fire for him. When we enter into the experience, we come to a new awareness of what the Baptist meant when he said: ‘He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. (’Luke 3: 16)

“It is complicated to receive this touch from the Lord? Not at all. We have first to understand it, then to desire it, to repent of whatever sin there may be in our lives, to come freely under the Lordship of Jesus, and simply to ask the Lord to baptise us with his Holy Spirit. The rest is up to him, and he is very good at coming through.

“Some years ago, when I asked the Lord to full me with his Spirit, what followed was unmistakable. He changed me. I cannot say to others that I have something now that they do not have. But I can say that I have something now that I did not have. And it has made a world of difference in my life.” Tweet Button
