As has been the case in past years, the Pilgrimage will begin at 7:00 pm., on Thursday evening (July 23) with Holy Mass celebrated in the Parish Church. On each evening of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, (each evening at 7:00 pm) Father Scott will celebrate mass and offer a homily on the following themes:
- Thursday: "The Mass as Sacrifice"
- Friday: "The Supper of the Lamb"
- Saturday: "The Power of Adoration"
- Sunday (at the 2:00 pm Mass): "Eucharistic Miracles"
The talks at each mass will help us remember the dignity and reverence that is a part of each Eucharistic celebration, be it at St. Peter’s in Rome, or a weekday mass in a country church. It is the same Jesus who comes to us at each mass in a way that is like no other experience. Remembering what the Mass is, and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that is presented for us at each mass, will help us grow both in gratitude and strength from the celebrations. Of special note will be Father Scott’s talk on Sunday afternoon on the theme of “Eucharistic Miracles”. Father will help us understand the great wonder of miracles that are continuing to take place in various parts of the world; miracles that involve the Eucharist and which lead us to an even greater amazement of the love of Jesus who wants to be with us in this intimate gift of Himself.
