Fr. Michael Minifie

Fr. Michael Minifie Portrait

What was your background before you joined the CC?
I come from a traditional Catholic Family that had some experiences of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Most of my youth was spent wandering around with deep yearning to be but plagued by no sense of purpose, like a ship on a sea without a port. When I experienced a major conversion at 17, I found my port, the Catholic Church and Jesus Christ.

What led you to join this community?
I visited the community when I was 18. The first person I met was Fr. Mark Goring who was a seminarian at the time and the same age as me. That helped a lot. The first thing I heard when I entered the house was some brothers laughing with great joy. Being welcomed so warmly by Fr.Bob sealed the deal.

What kind of ministry are you doing now?
I recently served at the Catholic Charismatic Center. I helped out in the Spanish community, saying mass, hearing confessions at retreats, and sometimes giving talks. My other main role was working with the youth on the English part of our community and helping out with a healing mass in English on Thursday nights. Currently, I am pastor of Queen of Peace parish in Houston, Texas.
