We wish to inform you that Fr. Fernando Suarez and Fr. Jeffrey Shannon are no longer members of the Companions of the Cross. Fr. Scott McCaig, our General Superior, consented to their excardination and has signed the indult of departure, thereby releasing them for incardination into the Vicariate of San Jose of Mindoro, Philippines.

Though disappointing, this departure was not entirely unexpected. For several years, the leadership of the Companions of the Cross has made every effort to address growing concerns about their life and ministry, and to help them integrate fully into our community life. Fr. Suarez and Fr. Shannon chose to leave the community rather than submit to the
authority and expectations of the Society.
